I love this engagement session by Jana Williams so much! First of all, Tahlia and David are the absolute best, but not only that, you can tell how great they are together just by looking at these photos. I am also really into Tahlia’s hair and make-up by Fiore Beauty. I can’t wait for their wedding in Santa Barbara this summer.
Tanya and Aaron at The LA Athletic Club
When I met Tanya we had an instant connection – it was like chatting with an old friend. I understood what she wanted and she was totally on board with my recommendations. Tanya and Aaron are both architects and really care about design, which is why they selected The Los Angeles Athletic Club due to its rich history and newly renovated event space. Their ceremony was a lovely one at the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, which is one of the prettiest ones I have ever seen. On their wedding day, it rained and Tanya and Aaron took it in stride, laughing throughout their photos. They didn’t let the rain dampen their day at all! Engagement Session – Chloe and Mike
How good are these engagement photos by Ainsley Carlisle? Chloe and Mike will be getting married in the Spring of 2016 in Santa Barbara, so they decided to keep it more local for the engagement session and headed over to Point Dume in Malibu. I know that brides tend to get concerned whenever California experiences any “weather” and wind can be an annoyance, but it this case, I think it only served to enhance the photos. It looks like Chloe has her own wind machine and it is blowing her hair in all the right ways. So excited for their big event next year!
The Cream Event
I have been attending The Cream Event since the very beginning, so when I was asked to participate I was immediately excited and knew I would have to create something amazing since vendors and brides attend in order to be inspired. When I was told that the theme would be whites and creams, there was another level of concern since I am someone who LOVES color. I knew it would be a challenge, but luckily I was able to pair up with my friend Danielle. Danielle, from Brown Paper Design, and I have been working together for years and our events are some of my favorites. She is one of the most creative people I know, so I was confident we would come up with something special. She recently launched a new company called The Plant Library and wanted to showcase it at The Cream. She asked if I would be ok with using plants as opposed to flowers and suggested I go to a nearby nursery to immerse myself in the plant world. I headed over and took a million photos and by the time I was done, I knew what we would do! I came up with the idea of Cuba during prohibition – it seemed like we would be able to do something tropical and it would be a good backdrop for plants. Cuba has a rich history and background in the rum trade so I figured it would work perfectly for this event. We had many calls and meetings and I think we came up with something pretty unique. We had rustic vintage pieces from Found, a custom runner and draped backdrop, plus some textural tabletop items sourced from all over. We ended up having a lovely, artisanal look and I adore all of the green (of course)!
